This past week we had a class about Zone Systems and how it affects the exposure of the images. Your cameras only see in black and white, so that’s why there’s the zone system. Its really kinda interesting how it works. Basically your cameras basic exposure meter wants everything to be middle grey, right between black and white. However that isn’t always what you as the photographer want. Think of a white wall, you want it to come out white but the cameras exposure meter will want it middle grey. Knowing this as the photographer you use the zone system to expose the pictures how you want them exposed. The pictures I took for this assignment have two different exposures. There is one exception which is the blue flag because the cameras exposure and zone system exposure were the same.

I really like the wood paneling photo! The way the lines change with the perspective is really cool! I didn’t know that about the exposure meter and middle grey. You’re learning lots of neat things!
